CSBA winter meeting, Nov.1- 2, 2019
Douglas County Fairgrounds, Castle Rock, CO
Pre-registration is now closed. Register at the event!
Keynote speaker is Elizabeth Walsh from Texas A&M. Liz talks in the morning on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and in the afternoon on her research into the effects of chemical Varroa-mite treatments on queen viability.
We’ll also have our own Dr. Amy Franklin, DVM, who promises to bring us up to date on treatments for American Foulbrood (AFB), including phage treatments, which show promise and do not require a veterinary prescription.
Mario Padilla from the Butterfly Pavilion entertains us with pictures and stories from his beekeeping adventures in Nepal and Tanzania. Charming guy, captivating speaker, knows bees. In the afternoon we will have three workshops with honey massage and propolis, too.
We’ll have our traditional Big Money Honey Contest — which you could win — and of course our always scintillating general meeting.
Plan on making the meet-and-greet at Burly Brewing Company (680 Atchison Way, Castle Rock CO) with Liz, Mario and Amy from 6-9 PM Friday evening. https://www.facebook.com/BURLYBrewCo/ All this education and fun is not to be missed. As long as you’ve decided to become a beekeeper, why not become a really good one? Our summer and winter meetings are a great way to gain the information you need to hone your skills, as well as meet interesting people who share your passion for bees. (Big hint here, all you singles!)
So sign up now for your pre-registration discount, and take advantage of the $79 room rate at the La Quinta Inn Castle Rock, 884 Park St., Castle Rock, CO 80109, by calling the hotel directly at 303-660-2230.
