2013 CSBA Winter Meeting
The 2013 CSBA Winter Meeting will be held on November 9th at Kirk Hall at the Douglas County Fairgrounds. The Fairgrounds are located just off of I-25 in Castle Rock and were selected as they are centrally located and easy to find. Registration and BIG MONEY HONEY contest entry begins at 8 am and the meeting at 9 am.
Featured speaker will be Dave Mendes former president of the American Bee Federation and owner of Headwaters Farm, a 20,000 colony migratory beekeeping operation out of North Fort Myers, FL. Here is a link to Dave’s bio. For a complete agenda, click here.
As the Friday evening “Meet and Greet” that we rolled out last year was so popular, we are going to try it again. The “Meet and Greet” will be held at the Lowell Ranch on Plum Creek facility from 7-9 pm. Click here for a map. Our guest speaker, Dave Mendes, will be in attendance. In addition, Senator Gail Schwartz from Aspen, sponsor of the Cottage Industry Bill, will speak briefly but most of the time will be devoted to networking and socializing. This year we’re going to have a bee trivia contest with prizes for the winning team! Light food and beverages will be provided. Come on down!
You can also pre-register for the Saturday meeting and enter your honey in the BIG MONEY HONEY contest. Please click here for the BIG MONEY HONEY contest entry form and rules. We are going to shake it up a bit on prizes this year. Stay tuned. Of course, the grand prize winner will still carry home the traveling trophy and the beautiful engraved plaque. Please note that the jar is specified in the BIG MONEY HONEY contest this year and is a queenline or a classic. They can be ordered from any of the major vendors and are available from To Bee or not to Bee in Denver.
A pre-registration form is available here. There is a 15% discount if you pre-register before October 31st.
Special lodging rates are available from the Comfort Suites in Castle Rock for $74 per night. Call them at 303-814-9999 to get your special CSBA Winter Meeting rate.
These meetings just keep getting bigger and better every year! If you haven’t been lately, come see what you’ve been missing.
