Tim Brod will begin his lecture series at To Bee or not To Bee Friday evening March 8th from 7:00 – 9:00 for a fee of $20.00  This lecture is geared for 2nd year and on beekeepers.  Seating is limited to 50.  Please RSVP to :   ToBeeRSVP@gmail.com.

“Dynamics of Successful Split Making: Creating Queen Cells Using An Adaptive Cloake Board Method.”

 

Current morbidity rates for beekeepers are 20%-50%.  Creating splits is a necessary tool for beekeepers, no matter which hiving system employed.   This interactive lecture will explore the axioms necessary to generate healthy and viable splits. We will discuss how the use of a Cloake board can be a useful tool in generating multiple queen cells for use in splits.  And while this lecture will focus on the use of Langstroth Hive systems, the precepts taught are adaptive to any hiving technology.  This class is designed for minimally active 2 year and more experienced beekeepers.

BEEKEEPING CLASSES

Gregg will be holding his information-packed beekeeping classes again this year. The cost is $75.00. Each class runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. with a 1-hour break for lunch. Please bring paper and pen to take notes. Classes are held next-door to our store, and weather permitting, afternoon classes will be also held at several hive locations.
