General Discussion / Re: Missing bees in garden over the last two weeks

Mason bees this late?  Hmmmm.  There are lots of beekeepers in Greeley as there are no restrictions or bans.  Must not be anyone near you.  Perhaps you should get bees?!

General Discussion / Missing bees in garden over the last two weeks

I'm Carol and I am new to the forum. I live in Greeley and I am concerned about the disappearance of honey bees in my garden since the last week of July. My Russian sage is in full bloom and the only bees visiting the flowers are mason bees. Has anyone else noticed anything unusual? Thanks

Welcome!  You may be interested in joining Brighton Beekeepers.  They are a new group just getting up and going and could use some beekeepers in the area.  http://brightonbeeclub.org/

I currently do not have bees but have been looking forward to the spring. I was given a large number of hives and equipment from a friend. I live east of Brighton and I am surrounded by farm land. There is little to no bee activity out our way (I did see a swarm 5 or 6 years ago). I have two gardens, some fruit and nut trees and we are adding flower beds all the time. I current have a very low harvest and I am looking forward to a productive season next year with that addition of bees to the home stead menagerie.
