The SouthEast Beekeepers Club is a fairly unstructured group of beekeeping people who get together once a month to share information, ask questions, get news, etc. Other than having a pot luck prior to and during the meeting, we don’t have an agenda. When we do have speakers or special interest discussions, we send out notices to our group.

We have no dues. Everyone is welcome, all you need is an interest in bees.

[We meet every 3rd Monday except for November and December]

This is your last minute reminder about the club meeting this Monday evening, May 18th, at the Florida Baptist Church at 6 PM. Our new member, Valerie West is going to share how she learned to make a nuc for the purpose of growing new queens for yourself. This is a skill we all need, and there is more to it than just putting a couple of frames in a box. As we are just learning, queen age is a major factor in bees swarming, and if we can learn to grow new, good quality queens for ourselves, we can greatly reduce the swarming impulse in our bees. We’ll also talk a bit about how to know if your stock is of good genetic quality. Plus, we’ll have a good visit with our fellow beeks, and get the answer to that vexing conundrum in your bee yard. Obviously, we’ll need to talk about some new board members, too. Come and find out what is going on! We are growing! Think about what you can do to help. Looking forward to seeing you all there.
