CSBA Winter Meeting

The CSBA Winter Meeting will be held on Saturday, November 8th from 8-5 pm at Kirk Hall at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.  The Fairgrounds are located just east of I-25 off Exit 181.  This is the same venue as last year as there is adequate space for both the meeting and vendor booths.  If you are interested in a vendor booth, please contact me and I will send you the information.

The featured speaker on Saturday is Katie Lee.  Katie is Marla Spivak’s PhD candidate and she is the leader of the Bee Informed Partnership’s Midwest Tech Transfer team.  While Katie is the “Main Event”, she is not the only event.  We have a full day of interesting speakers!  See the full schedule here.

The meeting will also feature the BIG MONEY HONEY contest.  The top honey entry winner will take away a prize package worth $300, a beautiful hand carved wooden plaque and the traveling trophy with their engraved nameplate.  Rules and entry forms can be found on the CSBA website.  Important note for this year’s honey contest!!!!!  We have changed the honey jar size.  This year it will be a wide mouth pint.  Have you ever seen the Best of Show honey award?  It is just beautiful.  Click here to view.

It is election time again!  All Officers and Advisors positions are available.  Here is a description of Officer and Advisor responsibilities.  If you would like to nominate yourself or a colleague, please give me a call at 970-213-3099 or send me an email at president@coloradobeekeepers.org and I will add your nomination to the ballot.  THANK YOU for serving.

The Comfort Suites in Castle Rock will be offering discounted rooms once again.  Please call them at 303-814-9999 to reserve your room at the discounted rate of $79 per night.  This rate is only available until October 31st so act now.
